About Andy

Behaviour Support Practitioner | Trainer & Assessor | Adult Educator | Sports Coach | Psychology Student | Mentor

I'm Andy—a behaviour support practitioner by profession, a trainer and assessor by qualification, an adult educator at heart, a coach by passion, a dad above all else, currently deep in my psychology studies with my sights set on becoming a psychologist, and a mentor by nature.

For as long as I can remember, I've been the person people turn to when things need figuring out. Whether it's a complex behavioural challenge, a team struggling to find its rhythm, a classroom full of adult learners finding their feet, or a friend navigating a difficult season of life, I've always been the one who steps up, listens first, and then gets to work on a solution.

That natural instinct to support, guide, educate, and problem-solve is what led me into behaviour support—and it's what drives me to keep showing up every single day.

My Approach

I believe in the power of positivity, hard work, and genuine human connection. I'm not interested in quick fixes or surface-level changes. I want real outcomes for the people I work with—lasting growth, stronger resilience, and the confidence to keep moving forward.

My background in coaching and adult education taught me that success isn't individual; it's collective. I push the people around me to be their best because I know they're capable of more than they realise. And when they succeed? That's what fuels me.

Always Learning, Always Growing

Right now, I'm studying psychology—and I make no secret of the fact that I want to be a psychologist one day. But this isn't just about a title for me. It's about taking everything I'm learning and feeding it directly back into my behaviour support practice, making me sharper, more effective, and more valuable to the people I serve.

Looking further ahead, I want to use those skills to support professionals who are going through tough times in their own careers. The people who spend their lives helping others often need someone in their corner too—and I want to be that person.

I will never know it all. I don't pretend to. But I will never stop learning, never stop developing, and never stop looking for better ways to help.

Giving Back

I'm a big believer in putting my energy where my values are. I've participated in various charity events over the years, including Steps for September and Mullets for Men's Mental Health—because I don't just talk about supporting people, I show up for it.

What Drives Me

I'm a positive person by nature. I like seeing people smile. I like hearing people laugh. And even though I don't have everything myself, I can't stand seeing someone go without the basics—or miss out on an opportunity to grow.

When something needs fixing, I'm the first to put my hand up.

Let's Work Together

If you're looking for someone who brings energy, commitment, current knowledge, real-world training experience, and a genuine investment in your success to the table, I'd love to hear from you.

Professional Experience

Hi, I'm Andy

I bring over 20 years of hands-on experience working with people across employment services, training and assessment, disability support, rehabilitation, and team leadership. I've worked in disability employment for more than a decade, spent 5 years in rehab services, led teams in earlier roles, and spent 5 years as a trainer and assessor delivering business and services qualifications. That's on top of years of casual support work along the way.

Qualifications: Business, Management, Administration, Bachelor of Sports Coaching, Diploma of Counselling (near completion), and Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) — currently studying at Charles Sturt University, graduating 2027.

Growing up with a permanent disability taught me to navigate challenges my own way. A close family member has always lived with significant care needs, and over the years I've seen the difference between good and bad support firsthand. That drives me to give my participants the best service I possibly can.

I take a positive behaviour support approach — seeing restrictions and regulated practices as a last resort, while being experienced in determining the right path when they are genuinely needed. I think outside the box, I don't judge, and I meet people where they are.
